| USATF - Utah xc championships
I decided to run this race because if Jason Holt would have run this race and won it he could have passed me in the circuit standings. If he would have won I needed to take 7th or better to stay in 1st place. Turns out Jason had much bigger fish to fry and was racing in Indianapolis that morning.
I have been cross training for the last month (eliptical, bike, and walking) and hadn't really tested my calf before this run so I warmed up very little and didn't push it hard at all during the race. There wasn't a great turnout so I ended in 3rd with an 18:12 (after one wrong turn cost the first 3 of us about 20-30 seconds). Calf felt good through the race, but started to hurt on the cool down afterwards and hurt for several days later.

| I decided I've been patient enough after taking over a month off and I will just run 30 minutes a day until it become unbearable and then go see a doctor. I want it to hurt when I go see a doctor so I can tell him exactly where it hurts. there was just a little pain at the end of this run. |

| Longest run since 9/24/14. I ran on the Syracuse Trail. The first 5 miles felt great and then I turned around and the next 5 miles going back were against a bitter cold head wind. The calf felt great the whole time. AP: 6:42

| Decided to slowly work my way back to hard workouts, starting with this workout.
Mile splits: 7:17, 5:53, 7:00, 5:49, 7:00, 5:35, 6:44.
On the three faster miles I just wanted to be under 6 minutes.
The workout was felt easy, as it should have. The calf felt good.

| Stroller miles pushing Payson (30 lbs). He fell asleep 5 minutes into the run and stayed asleep the rest of the run. Other than the wind it was a good run. Pushing a stroller against the wind is no fun. AP: 7:19. |

| Thursday, Friday, and Saturday I ran on dirt roads north of Levan because that is where I was staying for Thanksgiving. All 3 runs were just out-and-backs on slightly rolling hills. I enjoyed the solitude. AP: 6:49.

| This one got warm. I ended up taking off my shirt and running shirtless for the last 8 miles. I had a tail wind going out and a strong head wind coming back. But, despite the head wind coming back my mile splits progressively got faster. AP: 6:49.
